In 1983, he married the love of his life, Alice R. Settles, and to this union was born two beautiful daughters, Ceslar Lovelace (Thomas) and Sabrina Lovelace (Glosson), 5 granddaughters, Dylan-Kate Buckley, Nala, Sasha, Nia and Makayla Thomas, 2 Grandsons, Demarcus Jr. and Chris and 2 son-in laws Jermaine Thomas and Demarcus Glosson. This is definitely a marriage made in heaven because Kenneth and Alice recently celebrated 34 years of wedded bliss and are still on their honeymoon. Under the dynamic leadership of our Pastor and Overseer, Rev. Jimmy L. Harper, Kenneth was ordained a Deacon in 1990. Four years later, he accepted his call into the ministry and in 2002, Pastor Harper officially appointed him as Assistant and Youth Pastor. His objective is to impact our youth by flooding their spirits with biblical truths at every given opportunity. He leads by precept and example to implement these truths and is blessed to have his wife, Alice by his side complementing him and encouraging him along the way.
Rev. Lovelace has embraced the vision that Pastor Harper shares with his congregation at Mt. Moriah and teaches “unconditional love and oneness”. Rev. Lovelace’s vision for the youth is “they are equipped with the word of God to be soul winners for Christ,” and that they learn at a young age how to respect authority and to follow leadership. Rev. Lovelace understands the significance of the scripture in Prov. 22: 6 “train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” He is cognizant of the fact that God has chosen him and is using him to be a vessel of honor, and an instrument of righteousness to feed the minds and the spirits of the youth at Mt. Moriah the Word of God so that they will grow up and mature into bold soldiers who are not tossed to and fro or swayed by false teachers and unsound doctrine.
Over the years, Rev. Kenneth Lovelace has watched God blessed the fruit of his labor visibly manifest in our youth as they commit to serving on the Usher Board, Praise Team, in the Mass choir, the Brotherhood ministry and in the Daughters of Sarah, and not to mention as they walk in unconditional love. Rev. Kenneth Lovelace and his wife, Alice are making a profound impact on our youth at Mt. Moriah knowing that they are the future leaders of tomorrow. Rev. Lovelace is a gentle giant with firm convictions and believes wholeheartedly in “standing on the word of God” and walking in the power and the authority of the Holy Ghost. One of his favorite scriptures is “ John 13:34, 35 “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” What say ye “youth @ Mt. Moriah” about the one and only, Rev. Kenneth Lovelace? ….and the youth respond without hesitation, reservation or apology “What a man, what a man, what a mighty good man!” Rev. Kenneth Lovelace is the son of Deacon Booker T. Lovelace Sr. and the late Bertha M. Lovelace. In his formative years, that would be an asset to him in the ministry once he reached adulthood and accepted his call into the ministry. As a youth, he was actively involved in Sunday School and the mass choir. In 1976, he accepted Christ under the leadership of the late Rev. Henderson White. He reached another milestone in 1981 when he graduated from Ole Main High School in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Again, thank you Father for sending Rev. Kenneth Lovelace to serve in the capacity of Youth Pastor at Mt. Moriah in Scott, Arkansas. Psalms 37:23 "The steps of a good man are ordered of the Lord and he delighted in his way."
